You begin you walk along the empty and silent corridor.
All of a sudden you hear a strange "whooshing" noise and feel a movement of air. The experience was strange like it was coming from no where and everywhere all at once.
Continuing to walk forwards along the corridor leads to a dead-end but everything is silent now and you can not see what caused the noise or air disturbance.
Walking back along the corridor feeling slightly deflated after expecting a bit more adventure after having just saved the world. You pass the console or at least what you thought was the console instead in its place is a futuristic-looking cubicle.

The cubicle is elliptical in shape, roughly 1.5 x 2m.
From where you are looking it seems to be completely devoid of any markings, so you decide to walk around it.
You are so distracted by the cubicle that it is only at the last second that you realise you are about to step on a shiny object at your feet. You carefully put your foot down to the side of it and bend over to pick it up. It is a small pocket watch! You definitely didn't step on it but looking at the hands it does already appear to be broken.

Without much thought, you put it into your pocket and begin looking at the cubicle again.
On this side there some indentations. Tracing your fingers across them helps you to spell out the words "The Quatermass 1" As you do so a small panel slides back.
There is a numeric keypad (0-9) and a digital display is flashing.

You wonder if that last crew member could be you when you hear a little polite cough from the waiter. You think he is still waiting for you to order and you haven't even looked at the menu yet. The first page appears to have the "House Specials"

Once again the image changes to a male, "Scanning ship.... Multiple life forms recently departed, one humanoid remaining". They look directly at you "that will be you then!"
"Right, err...ok...I seem to have accidentally launched the ship but can't quite get control over it! You've got to laugh, haven't you! Where the hell did that black hole come from? Wow, it's all happening here, isn't it!"
You just stand, looking confused, at the monitor.
"Can you just press that flashing button, for me?"

The door slides open.
You enter a much larger room. Taking a quick glance around you see there are various pieces of scientific equipment spread around it on laboratory surfaces. There are a few computer screens (all of which seem to be running analysis programs) along with clipboards and notebooks. There is also a small work area, with a few tools and some sort of mechanical device.
Along one wall is a large cabinet and more charts and schematics.
On the wall opposite there is a door and a large viewing window. Looking into the adjacent room, you can see Human(oid) figures. They are all wearing biological hazard suits and appear to be engaged in some sort of experiment.
The main problem you have is that is the only door out of the room you are in, other than the door back to the transporter. Not only do you think it is not a very good idea to be discovered, but you certainly don't want to enter that room unprotected. There are no bio-suits in this room.
You have no co-ordinates to re-program the matter transporter, so that is not an option.
You need a way out and it won't be long before someone in the other room notices you.
Maybe a detailed search of the room might reveal something?

Approaching the door, you now notice a few more things. Next to the door is a schematic drawing, of an optical antenna stuck to the wall. There is also a letter keypad on the wall, next to the door.
You whisper to yourself, "all I seem to do at the moment is enter codes!"
It looks like you need another password, to get through the door!
You look at the papers on the table. All of it is either more obscure schematics or notes in an unknown, potentially alien, language. As you are looking you notice a piece of paper tucked down the back of the table. It appears to be slightly ripped, at the top and at the bottom. You look around but can't see the other parts.
It does say "Optical Notes". Surely the fact that it relates to the page on the wall must be relevant.

The cabinet has a small padlock on it, you haven't seen a key but it would be useful to find one.
This is getting worrying, it's only a matter of time before someone sees you or enters the room.
You go back to the workbench, could any of these tools be used to pick the lock?
Unfortunately not! They are too large, you are not even sure what they would be used for. One has a screwdriver sort of look to it, but as you pick it up you feel its not really designed to be held by human hands. The device that is being worked on appears to be some sort of small steering wheel, it's clearly meant to fit into a console of some sort.

The path to your left seems to go slightly downwards and the air feels warmer. To the right, the passage slightly rises and the air is cooler!
You have no idea of where you are but, given the situation in the last rooms, trying to leave seems a good idea.
Since you first stepped into the cubicle, you haven't had much chance to catch your breath.
Ultimately, you are still trying to free the mysterious "D", who left you that message in the cubicle.
So far, trusting your intuition has proved to be a good idea, and right now you feel that leaving this place is the right thing to do.
So, does the cooler air suggest a way out?
While you are internally debating this, you realise that you can hear something and that something is getting louder!
Down the left passage, something is coming! Also, alarm bells have started ringing, from that direction.

There is a metal door in front of you, that appears to open outwards.
You gently push the door and realise it is another false cabinet. You are standing in some sort of space ship hangar!
You can't see anyone around so you step out but as you do you realise the sound behind you is definitely getting louder.
You need to act quickly! Now you have passed through it and close the door over, you can see there is a large bolt on it that has been left unlocked.
You slide it into position and think to yourself that should buy you some time.

The place seems deserted, but you can see a doorway in one of the side walls. Someone could come in at any moment, no time to waste.
There seem to be futuristic gun turrets, on the walls. They appear to be in a deactivated state. Well, that's a positive thing!
Apart from the two ships, there are various workbenches with tools, bits of equipment,(maybe spare/replacement parts) and handheld tablets. You guess they are probably ship maintenance/diagnostic devices.
You have no experience in flying let alone a space ship so you're just going to have to wing it or maybe there might be something in here to help!

You look around the ship, the hatch is approximately halfway along the length of the ship. The inside could hardly be more different from the exterior. There is a bulkhead behind you, you guess that's engineering. You are standing in a small recreational area, with seating, tables and food dispensers. Further in front, there is a two-person cockpit.
There is a recess in the cockpit panel, it has a small sticker saying "Do not remove manual!".
You move to the front and look through the cockpit and to your horror you realise the closed hatch has completely deadened any outside sounds!
Lights are flashing and looking to the cabinet you entered through, it is violently shaking as if something is trying to push their way through it!
You are out of time!

There is a strange "metallic" piece of card, attached to the venue map. It has an unusual embossed pattern.
But, even before you have time to look at it closely a figure swiftly, almost out of nowhere, appears in front of you.
"I see you have been selected to participate in our exciting new feature, please come this way".
You carefully fold the venue map up and put it into your backpack.
Following them through a side door that you hadn't even noticed they lead you to a computer terminal.
"Insert your card into the slot and follow the instructions."
Without hesitation, you follow the //command//. As the console springs into life, you look over your shoulder to find you are now completely alone.
A slight bell noise brings your attention back to the console and a single caption appears on the screen...
